The "Beast of Gévaudan" would be an animal at the origin of a series of attacks in France which began in the former country of "Gévaudan" against villagers (often women and children) between June 30, 1764 and June 19, 1767. All this gave rise to various rumors about the nature of this "beast": a wolf, an exotic animal, or a werewolf !? The fear of this apparently invincible "Malbête" and the too many victims, incited the King (Louis XV) to mobilize royal troops ("The Dragons") to track and kill it. Was it a "divine punishment" as the Church wanted to lead it to believe, an animal trained to kill or even an unknown species to this...

Hailing from the urban Israeli settlement called Ma’ale Adummim in Israel, Arallu is a five-piece Black/Death Metal act that has been around the metal underground for twenty-five years. The band got the name Arallu from the Mesopotamian mythology, as it is the name of the underworld kingdom ruled by the goddess Ereshkigal and the god Nergal, where the dead are judged. Arallu’s music revolves around the traditional ancient Middle Eastern melodies of fellow countrymen Melechesh, the high speed savagery of bands like Angelcorpse and Absu, and the atmospheric feel of legendary acts like before mentioned Melechesh and Absu. Nové digipackové vydání debutního alba ARCTURUS z roku 1996. Following their early EPs "My Angel" (1991) and "Constellation" (1994), ARCTURUS finally released their debut album "Aspera Hiems Symfonia" in 1996. The Norwegians derived their name from the brightest star of the Northern hemisphere and were obviously influenced by the massively expanding black metal scene of their homeland. Already featuring such well-known protagonists as ULVER's Garm and MAYHEM's Hellhammer, the line-up on "Aspera Hiems Symfonia" saw Samoth replaced by excellent guitarist Carl August Tidemann and outstanding ULVER bass player Hugh "Skoll" Mingay also joining the band. Despite their audible black roots, ARCTURUS clearly begged to differ by daring to experiment and adding an avant-garde twist with strange sonorous vocals complementing those piercing shrieks, Sverd's cinematic keyboards, the technical guitar solos, and more elements that to this day mark the band from Oslo as progressive innovators.
